This project is hosted by Sporos, a Lesvos based organisation working with refugees, to give them access to skills and opportunities for the regeneration of the planet and their settlement and stability. The course will be held on land run by Sporos as a demonstration farm currently in initial phases of design implementation. To learn more about this project click on this link:
The Permaculture Design Certificate is an internationally recognised, seventy-two-hour course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate. It provides an introduction to permaculture design as set forth by movement founder Bill Mollison. This PDC is a week longer than normal, so as to give extra time to practical learning and on-site implementation along with the theoretical components expected of a standard PDC. Hosted for a majority of refugees, there are 5 spots available for Greeks and 5 for internationals on the course. These 10 spots are specifically for those interested in working with refugees on regenerative projects, whether with Sporos or elsewhere. If this is you please apply here:
If you want to support the project please help us make it go as far as we can by pledging to our crowdfunding campaign:
This PDC will be taught by Sam Parker-Davies, Alfred Decker, Konstantinos Tsiompanos and a wide-array of other guest teachers. French translation is available for those who need it.
This course will teach students regenerative design for human settlements and landscapes along with its implementation, with a direct focus on refugee relevant design. We will focus on designing refugee camps, small farms, houses and abandoned villages, along with legal details and examples of projects making it work.
Students will be submersed in work with refugees, experiencing many different cultures, we ask that all attendees are respectful of cultural differences, and encourage modesty in dress.
